I am Nikolaus Baikow, an attorney with a unique and comprehensive background in disability and laws that impact our everyday civil rights.

My commitment to this field is both professional and personal, driven by my experience as a parent of two children. This lens gives me a profound, real-world understanding of the challenges families face when seeking appropriate education and equal access.

Professionally, I bring a unique dual perspective:

• I previously served as a litigator defending school districts, which provides me with an invaluable understanding of their complex operations, decision-making, and compliance requirements.

• My prior work in Legal Aid focused on disability rights, including SSI appeals and Fair Housing Act claims, giving me a deep foundation in the full spectrum of disability civil rights.

I have now focused my practice as a plaintiff's attorney, dedicated to achieving access, equity, and lasting success for individuals and families in matters of education and employment. My approach is defined by creative problem-solving, a detail-driven mindset, and an unwavering persistence in turning complex legal requirements into clear, actionable strategy. I am committed to securing concrete, lasting results that protect my clients' futures.

I’m Nikolaus Baikow, Esq.

more about me

We understand how overwhelming it can feel to navigate the rules surrounding accommodation, access, and compliance. Whether you’re a parent advocating for your child’s education, an employee seeking workplace fairness, or an individual confronting systemic barriers, the law can feel confusing and impersonal.

We’re here to change that. Our practice combines legal expertise with empathy—helping you understand your rights, assert them confidently, and achieve meaningful results. We partner with families, employees, and organizations to resolve conflicts, implement effective accommodations, and ensure equity under the ADA, Section 504, and IDEA.

When regulations clash with real-world needs, we bring clarity, strategy, and compassion to every case—so you can focus on what matters most: inclusion, dignity, and lasting fairness.

We are dedicated advocates for employees and individuals facing disability-related barriers in the workplace. Our representation covers comprehensive claims under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA). This includes failure-to-accommodate disputes, retaliation cases, and advocacy for fair treatment and inclusion at every stage of employment.

    General Employment Law

We provide robust legal representation for a full range of employment matters beyond disability. This includes claims involving workplace discrimination (based on protected characteristics such as race, sex, age, or religion), wage and hour disputes, review and negotiation of employment contracts and severance agreements, and handling wrongful termination claims. We are committed to protecting your rights and ensuring an equitable work environment.

Special Education Law (IDEA and Section 504)

We empower parents and students to secure the appropriate educational supports and services guaranteed under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and Section 504. Our services include IEP and 504 plan development, evaluation review, addressing placement disputes, and providing dedicated representation in due process hearings.

  • Civil Rights and Accessibility:

We protect the rights of people with disabilities in schools, workplaces, and public settings. Our work includes accessibility complaints, policy enforcement under Title II and Title III of the ADA, and ensuring equal access to educational and employment opportunities.

  • Advocacy and Early Resolution:

We provide direct advocacy and negotiation support to resolve conflicts before they escalate. From IEP meetings to workplace accommodation discussions, we help clients navigate complex systems and assert their rights with confidence.
